The Quest is Over!!

Readers, I have found true and lasting (at least for one season) joy:

PLEASE tell me you watched 90210 last night.

Because the first thing you noticed, if you watched, was Jessica Walters. As a cranky, crazy, AWESOME lushy grandma. That's right: Gangy is back!
And her best friend? Oh, just a nobody named SUE ELLEN EWING. (Yeah, Linda Gray, but in my heart she is Sue Ellen. Drunk, tongue thrusty Sue Ellen.)
And then, as if that weren't enough, we have the dialog . Are you ready?

Spoiled girl: I'm late because I was at the doctor's
Jock: (coughing) Gyno!
SG: Yes, I was at the gynecologist. He told me to remind you to clean your vagina.

I don't think it is hyperbole to say that I now know what it felt to cross into the Salt Lake Valley after all of that wandering and searching. And that I slept in Heavenly Peace.

The Quest Part Two: Y&R. Mostly R.

I set The Young and the Restless to record. What a waste. They are young, but they are mostly boring. And there are no serial killers, no hermaphrodites sleeping with their fathers, no "Mexicans" who are actually from Greece or Norway but have dark hair so they can play that role, and no little people. Boo.

The Verdict? Pbbth.

As a side note, I got my first postcard today from Postcrossing. I am hooked, I tell you, HOOKED!

The Quest Part 1: Can Steve Sanders Replace Vincent, the He/She Serial Killer?

So, in an attempt to fill the void (see the sidebar), I am vetting afternoon guilty pleasures.

Today's candidate: First Season 90210

Pros:

  • Twice a day
  • Awesome Brenda nonsense
  • Tori Spelling pre-Lifetime
  • Joe E Tata. Just say it. It will make you happy.
  • Amazingly Awful.
  • David (AKA DJ MC Cracker) isn't rapping too much in the first season.
Cons:
  • Seriously, this show is AWFUL.
  • The realization that the parents on the show look REALLY young. Which means I must be getting old.
  • Not enough Luke Perry in the first season. Too much Brandon.
  • I forgot how preachy this show is. Every episode is "Very Special." Sheesh
  • No hermaphrodite serial killers, witches, or fat kids who talk only in thought bubbles.
Verdict: I'll still watch it when I am sewing in the evening, but it is not freaking crazy enough to replace my love, Passions.

Any suggestions? I am open to anything...
