Super Nerd Alert

So, I have a confession to make:  I am a super nerd.

Not a COOL nerd, like the Doctor Who/ComiCon/Steampunk nerds*, but a nerdy-nerd with a nerd wish:

I really want to collect stamps.

For real.

I think it would be so fun, and relaxing and filled with tiny things for gluing and lots of boxes to check off.

(Just thinking about the possibility makes me happy)

BUT---

Have you met my children?  The Destroyers?

We call him Hulk.  Because of the smashing.
So, until I can have nice things (never) I do Postcrossing.  (Do you Postcross?)  Basically, it is a free website where you sign up and are assigned to send and receive postcards from around the world.  I send about 6 a month (because international postage is pricey) and I receive that many a month.  Just some happy mail to make me happy.  I buy tourist cards at gas stations and grocery stores and, a few years back, bought a grab bag of art cards from Pomegranate.  (Because some people are PICKY as to what type of cards they prefer to receive.)

It is ALMOST as fun as I think philately would be. (The other day I got a postcard from Crimea--that's where Landen Park-Laine lost his leg!*)

*I wish I was that cool of a nerd
**I am also a book nerd.

Our bowling alley in the EP is FULL of lightly colored refuse.

The bowling alley down the street is advertising $1 games for the summer. And it is air conditioned. So we went. (Note to those looking to move to the EP: You will do almost ANYTHING to get into some refrigerated air. If the "gentlemens' club" had $1 games, we would go there.)

Jooj had a good time. Until she smashed her finger. But then she ate nachos, so it was okay. Then she threw some fits and got a yellow card*. Then we came home. THE END.

PS I got a new camera. I kind of really hate it. We will see if I return it. I miss my old camera. Curses.
PPS Our slutty fish keep impregnating each other. Is there any sort of fish IED I can purchase?

*Yellow cards are the new verbal warning. She went to a Dodgeball game with W and saw some soldiers get thrown out after receiving yellow, then red cards. She gets many yellows a day, but only one or two reds. Thanks, sporting events!

Still Thinking and Deciding

But I am taking the advice given--quit trying to be someone I am not.

Which is great, because it takes away the pressure and the guilt.

I am glad that I have amazing friends who have famous, amazing blogs.

And if they want to send me some readers or some money, I will take them.

And if not, I will still love them. Because that is who I am.

In other news, I am now a full-time-mother. Because Jooj is no longer in school. Because I prayed about it and feel really strongly that I need to keep her close. I am glad to have personal revelation, and I know I am doing the right thing, but MAN. I miss my four hours a day by myself.

And today is Spaghetti Friday. So I am off to make rolls. And then work on my quilt. Because I am so freaking domestic. Barf.
