We do the egg hunt on Saturday morning, rather than Easter Sunday for a few reasons: First, I like to focus our Pascua on the resurrection of the Savior; Second, we have 8:30 AM church, which means that we would have to get up ridiculously early to consume that much candy before we leave. So, bright and early, Jooj went hunting for her eggs!
Then it was time to pull the pork out of the marinade and start the prep for La Caja China. We used the official Bobby Flay-beating recipe from the website, with a few exceptions (I was out of prunes). It was awesome, except for the fact that I had to touch guavas. Which are like Satan's brains in syrup.
Then we partied. It ruled. The food was good. There was no brinca, though, because the wind was clocking at 60MPH. So we decided not to put the kids in giant balloons.
Easter Sunday we ate the traditional Johnson breakfast of creamed eggs on toast. Which ruled.
And then we went to church. Jooj did great in her first primary musical number. She even knew all the words!
Happy two weeks after Easter.
PS: I will not be posting pictures of the reunion. Because I don't have any. Because I was busy reuniting. I may post videos at some point, but don't bet on it.

You are making me hungry.
So does that mean you don't like Papayas either? ;-)
And... holy cow - W looks like that guy on Fringe that was also in Band of Brothers. What's his name... I'm too lazy to go on IMDB.com
HAPPY two weeks after Easter... my post is still in draft form...
I love how much the Jooj looks like her papa.
How does one make creamed eggs?
Sister P: Make a white sauce. Sprinkle the hard-boiled yolks in. Ladle it over toast. Put some chopped hard-boiled whites on top. Add salt. Sha-zam.
Hey, my fam used to have creamed eggs on toast. It is delish, I can vouch for that. Also, my nearly 2 year old had that same blue dress for her Easter dress--it is the quintessential Easter dress, straight out of a picture you maybe drew when you were like eight of your perfect little girl dress. So cute. That color looks beautiful on Jooj.
Happy Easter! Its never too late to wish you the celebration of our
Savior, is it? I would wish it all year long! I love you--you all look very happy. I'm so glad you're all together again!
