And just like that, the A-Day love is gone

Things I have said today:
"Sorry, no friends today."
"How sad!"
"What a sad day this is for you!"
"You can play with friends another day."
"When you are sassy you cannot go outside."
"When you are sassy it means you need to take a nap."
"That's too bad."
"I love you."
"Do you love me?"
"Can you say 'I love you Mami?'"
"Can you give me a kiss, then?"
"How about a hug?"
"Please say "I love you" to Mami.

Only three or four hours until bedtime.

You know, my husband often wants to say to me, "When you are sassy it means you need to take a nap."

And he would be right.

Here's to dusk falling early on old EP tonight.

Pleading with a toddler never got me anywhere either.

Bedtime, however, did.

Blessed bedtime.

Now I know: when I am sassy I need a nap.

I now understand why we were sometimes sent to bed at 6pm.

Bedtime (with kid actually asleep) before dark = sane mom

So when she tells you, "Men are that they might have joy, Mom. And I'm not feeling ANY joy at the moment," what do you say to her then?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Honor thy father and thy mother that thy days may be long on the earth because right now your days are looking pretty short.

(Well, that's what I'd say anyway.)
