Many people have commented on the fact that it must be difficult to be alone all of the time, what with Army seducing W and everything, and it is. One solution? Getting out of the house. Another solution, feeling joy. Combine both of them and you have the makings of a great day.
I defy you to find a better joy-bringer than attending a toddler class of any kind. Dance recitals, soccer games, karate--all are acceptable for enjoyment. Most, however, do not take kids until they are three.
But gymnastics loves the terribles! (Think about it--the Chinese and the Russians get them in the womb to start doing handsprings. That is why they get gold medals, people!)
If you are ever feeling lonely or blue, get yourself out of the house, call up a niece or nephew, and watch their class. If you are lucky, you will see the following things:
- tantrums from toddlers
- tantrums from competitive mommies
- nose picking
- random singing and dancing
- twirling
- crotch grabbing
- the "ta-daa" moment
And so I present Joojia Comanice Lou Retton.
(And the twice a week gymnastics class!)
Showing off her "Ha-Haaa!" before she goes to "Jinkies."
Jumping and climbing. She is in heaven.
She then gets a sticker and a sucker.

Seriously, they've got it down. If I could get a sticker and a sucker at the end of the day. . .all is right with the world.
And then my 2 year old would rip the sucker right out of my hand, but for that ONE moment. . .
ws- LOL - I HEAR YA!
Jooj is adorable... and that's why I love preschool! ;-)
I liked gymnastics, Until Iknocked out my 2 front teeth with my own knees. Then I decided gymnastics was not for me.
looks like jooj has a better grasp on the whole concept.
The Jooj is so cute even her pics bring joy :)
smoochaliscious! Love the leotard!!
And for her NEXT TRICK: la jooj will climb into the dog kennel! And pretend to sleep!
Nose picking fo sho!
Kanoa took a dance class last year led by a very portly teacher who mostly filled the time with marching around the room or crawling aroung on the floor to the tunes of "lion king".
I was immensely proud & joyous none the less.
My time was short in El Paso, La Yen, but we must cross paths again...Maybe in Utah? Or if our house never sells, maybe we'll be back in time for the Pioneer Day stake festivities complete with the nacho booth.
