Some items of business:
1. W's brother, Patrick Star, has a new business that I want to let you all know about. It is called Amway.
Did you just wet yourself a little?
Actually, it is neither multied-or leveled, and is a search-engine for deals:
They post all sorts of new shopping deals all of the time, and it is pretty good. He tends to have the scoop on a regular basis. I will be putting it in my links when I figure out the new "easier" beta, but check it out before then.
2. Do you have the Sufjan Steven's Christmas Album? Why not? Is it because you hate Santa and the little drummer boy?
3. We just received word that we will be moving no later than August for Georgia (no relation) and then somewhere unknown six months after that. I am currently accepting suggestions. Provo is dead out. (Not because I wouldn't, but because ARMY wouldn't.) Currently atop W's list are: Ft. Carson, CO; Ft. Lewis, WA; and Ft. Drum, NY. My list includes: Italy, Germany, and Provo. You can see how I am not going to get my say in this AT ALL.
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go?

For the love of all things good and holy don't go to DRUM!!!! Watertown is a horrible place. About 10 feet of snow a year, 15-25 degrees Fahrenheit for a high during the winter, and the closest city of any size...Rochester!
That said if you guys do go to Drum we're going to have to meet up sometime out there, maybe during Pageant.
My vote is for whatever is closest to Provo. Will you always have to move that often?
I was so looking forward to hearing about Amway. How about NuSkin?
GEORGIA? Pros: not as much dirt everywhere. Cons: no more tamales on the street corner.
To Espana, on the beach, with the fam. We'd eat BBQd sardines and go for walks along the sidestreets with our sweaters (it gets cold on the coast!)
I am hating the beta because it thinks I don't exist and I DO.
I'm not a good candidate for this question. I love my hood so much that when I needed a bigger house from our little used-to-be-a-fruit-packing-shed fixer-upper (I'm not making that up) I just moved across the street. Really.
But seriously, I could move to Finland in a heartbeat--but only if it were just a summer home. Then I could come back to Provo, even though it's sort of lost it's charm now I know you won't be moving here any time soon!
SP--ALl of those things sound FABULOUS to me. I heart snow. That is why I could prally do finland with CW.
Azucar--wouldn't BBQd sardines be just like BBQ chips, but saltier? Also, had our first trunk tamales of the season. $7 a dozen, hot out of someone's trunk.
Sue--no, we were only in this place for 3 years because it is considered a "detail." THe 6 months will be while W is in ANOTHER school--this time to become a captain, (More money, not sea-faring) and then we will be in the next place for 4-6 years. Unless he goes to Iraq as soon as he gets there, in which case I will move into ~J's basement.--unlesss CW's fruit shack is open to rent!
CO is pretty but I vote WA since we'll hopefully be back up there next fall. After WA my vote is for Italy (who WOULDN'T want to live in Italy - idiots, that's who) then Germany (I lived there 3 years while my dad was stationed there. We lived off-base and I'm eternally grateful for that experience) and finally Provo because that's what you'd want as well as all the other friends/family that are here.
So then... where will you "represent yo" from??? I would suggest you move to the land of milk and honey - but we don't have snow here... although we did get an afternoon of it last year. I will check out dealosaurus - I imagine it's like slickdeals...will go look now.
hi - I'm a lurker, mostly don't have time to comment due to the baby pulling my hair, but I'm feeling the same wat - I'm living in Brasil, wondering where the heck we are going to go next. I just left Georgia and LOVED it, although if you're heading to the big base in Columbus, their Golden Corral Buffet is terrible. Just a friendly warning. I'd try the Waffle House. Well, one of the 117 they have there;)
on a completely different note, but noticing your sidebar..
Have you read Joy in the Morning by Betty Smith? It was one of my favorite books growing up. Way better than Tree I thought.
I vote NY. Or Europa somewheres. And Provo.
Georgia in summer? OUCH!! You have my condolences on that. And if you're moving again six months after that, I think you should go with WA (no snow near Sea-Tac in Feb). Honestly, I don't think I could be paid enough to move to CO or upstate NY in the middle of winter.
Don't they have bases in fun places, like Cancun? You should seriously take that up with the Army ;)
