I hate the term "Bucket List*"

Things I want to make happen before it is too late**

  1. Take a cruise with my labies. Their families can come or not come. I don't care. W may be allowed to come, because he is pretty much their favorite thing about me. But I want to go somewhere on vacation with them all. And I want to not cook or clean or drive whilst vacationing. And I want to be in a pool. And I want them to all be able travel with me.
  2. Go to England. And, if possible, go to the Graham Norton show. And if more possible, have The Jolly Porter narrate a ghost walk for me.
  3. Sell my house. I am terrified of the whole process. I don't even want to talk about it. Except, want to buy my house?
  4. Take a vacation with my parents and siblings. This one is almost more impossible than any other because I have so much freaking immediate family. My dad's family, my mom's family, W's family. That's three separate family vacations, with about a million variables. I will settle for vacations with the grandparents, but I would love to have everyone all together.
  5. Be present at the birth of one of my children. Didn't meet Jooj until she was six days old. Don't remember anything other than throwing up on the table before they yoinked Buster out, and didn't meet him for another 24 hours after that. I really would like to see one of them brand new.
  6. Run a marathon. I had a goal to to a half-marathon this January. Instead I am giving birth. (I do not believe this actually happened. I refuse.)
  7. Have a clean house 90% of the time. THIS one may actually be the most impossible to achieve.
  8. Sew a perfect quilt.
  9. See my children married and OUT OF MY HOUSE.
  10. Live next door to the Ecktons again. It may be in adjoining retirement homes, but I will take it.
  11. Have money left over at the end of the month. More than one time. I think that this will coincide with #9.
  12. Not ever do a triathlon. Not ever.
  13. Have nice things. See #9 again.
  14. Pay off my student loans. Seriously. I have no idea if this will ever happen.
  15. Have my tattoo removed. It is stupid. I was stupid. See also #11 as to why I still have it.
This is my entry in the Just Ask Bucket List Getaway Giveaway. Just Ask offers a breast and ovarian cancer screening and is encouraging people to share 15 things that I want to enjoy in my lifetime as a reminder to be aware of my health. Want to enter? Head over to TodaysMama.com to get the details.

*But not badly enough to NOT whore myself out for a chance at winning!
**10:30 on any given night. I am freaking exhausted.

Jen,
Congrats to you and Waldo with #3!

I realize I'm running the risk of you hating me by saying this, but I care about birth and I like you, so I'm going to risk it. To help you with your #5 above may I suggest that you read "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth" by Henci Goer. It will help you to be an informed consumer, and I know that you are a thinking woman. (I also realize that the circumstances surrounding your last birth were not ideal, but this time, you will have more say.)And if you want to try the VBAC/natural route, look into HypnoBirthing. Good luck!

But triathlons are sooooo fun. No really, they ARE! WAY better than a marathon or 1/2 marathon. I promise! Love the rest of your list. I think I could put most of those things on my list...especially having anything paid off. UGH! Here ishoping that you totally get to be present at this babies birth.
