How I was blessed through sheer laziness

We have a continuing thing at our home.
1. Jooj climbs onto a stool that is three inches above the ground
2. Jooj panics and cries for help
3. I say "You can do it, you're a big girl!" because I want to encourage her, and mostly, I don't want to have to walk over and help her get down three inches.
4. She eithr gets down, or freaks out.

And it hit me, after she had freaked out the last time, that I was witnessing a thing that Heavenly Father must see all of the time. We freak out because we can't see how easy the solution is, and He just says "You can do it, you're a big girl" because He can see, from His vantage point and with all of His experience, that it is only three inches.

You know what's amazing to me is how many times I stand on the stool and cry for help even after I know it's only three inches from the ground.

That Heavenly Father is pretty darn patient with me.

Great post!

End of story.

This is perfect. The purpose of life - to become like God... that's why we have families... does your ward know how lucky they are to have you??

Thanks, everyone! And no, Scarlett, they don't. I am planning on holding it over their heads in heaven.

Exactly right! I know several times I freak out over things like an inch off the ground. . .until I look over and see someone like 10 feet off the ground.

Did I seriously say "like" twice in that comment? Let me go get my parachute pants and banana clip.

I love it when smart people like you can find lessons in the little things in life. It's a gift for sure! Thanks for sharing.

Your lesson has intrigued me! You should write a book entitled "What laziness Has Taught Me." I would buy that book. I'm writing a book called "Lessons TV Watching Have Taught Me." We should sell them as a set at Deseret Book (or Seagull--whoever gives us the best deal).
