2012! Now With More Internet!

Baby J still in the hospital, laughing in his sleep. We are optimistic he will be home in the next two weeks. PPD kicking my butt in a major, major way. Buster walking. Jooj needs her bangs trimmed. Update: updated.

I don't often make a lot of public goals, because when I do I get pregnant and cannot complete them. I like to complete things. I like to check things off. I like to win trophies. I have told the past three RS presidents that if there was a tangible prize, like a trophy, I would have 1000% visiting teaching at all times. (I know that this is not the point, but I am highly flawed.) So it is with trepidation and a load of caveats that I announce my goals for 2012.

1. Birth no babies in 2012. It is not that I don't want to enlarge the family, but that I have had a baby pulled out of me in 2010 and in 2011 and I would like a break from vomiting/nearly stroking out/abdominal surgery/frantic bouts of despondency. And since I only gestate for seven months (much like Chuck Norris),I have plenty of time to heal, start living, and get knocked up AGAIN in a calendar year. But not THIS calendar year, I beg.

2. Half-Marathon. I don't care where it is, or even if it is formally organized. But I want to be able to run one. This was my goal last year, and we all saw how well that worked out, BABY J. The only daunting thing about this is that I will have to purchase a double jogging stroller, and the only one with any semblance of good reviews is $500. Youch.

3. Combat agoraphobic tendencies through the interwebs. Once Baby J comes home, I am never leaving the house again. This is absolutely fine with me; my secret desire is to create an apocalyptic bio-dome and only communicate via text. Is no so buenar for los ninos to have la shut in para una madre, howevers. My solution to this is to join some groupos online that will require me to leave the house and go to the fabric store and the liberry. To wit: Goodreads Seasonal Challenge, where I want to be the winner of all winners, and the Block Lotto where I want to improve the quiltings. (I fully understand that neither of these actually cultivate relationships. Baby steps.)

4. Tackle two ideas that terrify me. I hate to fail at things, and so I very seldom try new things because I can't stand not winning. But I have some ideas and desires and this year I am going to try two of them. And probably fail. And my goal is to not let failing kill me.

5. Make Pinterest my female dog. I am going to try one idea a week that I have pinned.

6. Get to church on time.

7. Not kill the children.

8. Save up 1/2 of the money I need for my European Trip in 2014. Because, as Zod as my witness, I am going to Europe in 2014 and eating a crapload of stinky cheese. Pun intended. You are more than welcome to come. But with or without you, I WILL BE GOING.

Jooj's resolutions? "Don't spank Papi. Don't murder anyone."

It's Getting Better all the Time

We are SO righteous. Never mind I am taking a picture instead of listening to the scriptures.

Still have a few days a week of The Sickness, but it is steadily improving.

Nurse gave me a sexy maternity brace, because "At the rate your hips are spreading you won't be able to walk by the time the baby comes."

I may have gestational diabetes, but can't fast long enough (15 hours total) to take the test.

Jooj learned a tough lesson about listening to me: When I say "Don't go outside without shoes" it is not because I hate her, but because I don't want her to get seven burrs stuck on the bottom of each foot, resulting in blood, splinters, and hobbling for two days.

W passed his inspections, resulting in sleep for the first time in weeks.

Jooj loves the Glee version of "Dancing With Myself." She told me "Mami! This is the best song in ALL of Texas! Because it says "There's nothing to hoop and there's nothing to poop!"

In one month we will be in Florida. Anyone want to come?

In three weeks I will be in Vegas. Without the rest of the family.

My dear friend is making me read a book about horses and Finding Love. Because I won't read Twilight for her.

How was your week?
