I am so excited for you. I know that I don't really know you, but I couldn't be MORE happy and excited for your little family. Being sealed to your kid is like being having a wedding again, but you aren't young and dumb anymore (in the best way, of course). Make sure and take lots of pictures!! Did you get a dress for her? They usually bring the babies into the sealing room in a frilly white carriage or stroller. Jacob was NOT having it. All I could see was this little old lady wheeling a white pram. Jacob was trying to sit up and he was rocking the whole thing back and forth and kept trying to stand up. It was very spiritual!! :-)
I love the new picture of Gigi. Is that an announcement you used for her sealing? Do you finalize in front of the judge too? We had to, but it was private, not agency assisted. It was really fast, but it made it feel more official. They usually video tape it for you and give you a copy. It is your very own version of the birth video!! The best is seeing your name on the new birth certificate.
Ho hum....... Make sure that you get the clothes from Lisa. Jenny has talked to her, I think. If not, let me know and I will give you her phone number.
Good luck and have fun. All of us here in blog world can't wait to hear all about it and see pictures!!
Seriously, wouldn't it make the day MORE special if she DID poop or spit in it. It is a better story!!
I just remember seeing him wheeled into the celestial room. The pram was rocking back and forth and the old lady had a really strange look on her face. Everytime Jacob tried to sit up, Lauren would shove him back down and we would see tiny black feet and fists flailing as he tried to sit back up again. Of course Lauren would shove him right back down again....
How is it going w/ not having a car and all? Are you surviving? Have you organized all the cupboards out of boredom?
BTW, did you know about the $5,000 tax credit you qualify for once you finalize? Some companies (and many government agencies) will reimburse up to another $5,000 to offset costs. This is because most insurance companies provide maternity coverage and it is descriminatory to those of us that don't birth them!! The bill went into effect last year (due to great effort by Hilary Clinton--whatever else I may think about her, I thank her for that). Let me know if you want the info. It may be worth checking if the military has that too. It isn't something they go out of their way to let you know.
The military will give us 2000 smackers. Yay for that. Do we have to fill out special things to get the money from President Bush? I thought we would just check the box on our tax forms...
Since I have had no car: 1. watched a lot of food network, and tried new recipes. 2. made The Jooj a sweater 3. learned how to mix videos. 4. organized her closet.
The military will give you $2,000. Sheesh. My brother in law is in the Army and I know they don't play fast and loose w/ the money. That is great. For the adoption credit I think you have to be a little bit proactive. We missed it last year. I will do the research for you. You have to prove that you finalized and that usually means sending a certified copy of the adoption decree and new bc. I will let you know. I know that you used LDSFS and they have the pro rated fee. You will only get what you spend in ACTUAL costs, but when you figure in attorney fee's, homestudy and post placement, travel fee's to go back to finalize....you should be in good shape.
Do you knit? Why do you need a sweater in El Paso? :-)
Ok. SO I finally rediscovered your blog. When you first started it, I swear I checked it like 6 times a week (that AND Galanapalooza). Apparently you started blogging again about a month later. I've gotta get with the times and catch up on the blogging so I can be in the know! ~Ames P.S. The sealing was WONDERFUL! The amazing sealing power is so incredible!!! My heart was so full of love it hurt!!!!! My eyes were so full of tears that I couldn't see. When they brought Gigi in all I could see was her little head floating along on this white blob. hehehee

Jen-
Yeah! You guys are such a beautiful family.
3:30. We have to be there at 2:30. You can be there anytime in between.
I hope they do a pram! That will be awesome! I hope The Jooj does not poop or spit in it...

Should I be bringing anything to Jenny's house? Chips, the M of BYOM, Dessert?
I know what I should not bring: kiwis. I think Waldo is still harboring a silent fued after I put kiwis into a peach cobbler once.
